EDIBLE CITIES CONFERENCE 2022
Hunger Fighters Uganda (HFU) is organizing the Edible Cities Conference (ECC) 2022 to provide space for inclusive multi-stakeholder policy dialogue and opportunities for peer-learning and exchange in regard to improvement of urban food systems. The ECC 2022 is being organized under the theme “Promoting Urban Agriculture to Enhance Food and Nutrition Security in Uganda’s Cities”. The conference is scheduled to take place on November 10, 2022 at Hotel Africana in Kampala.
The Edible Cities Conference (ECC) is conceptualized as a multi-stakeholder approach to enhance public engagements in policy debates so as to generate practical responses towards building resilient and sustainable urban agriculture, food security and livelihoods in Ugandan cities and urban areas. The Edible Cities Conference is one of the activities implemented under the Edible Cities Project (ECP) which is an innovative approach by Hunger Fighters Uganda (HFU) to harness opportunities for and within the urban food systems. The project aims at promoting sustainable urban agriculture in cities through investing in simple and proven urban eco-friendly interventions and food and nutrition security sensitive activities.
